Volunteer Appraisal Reviewers serve for a two-year term and conduct appraisal reviews for aspiring appraisers.
TALCB is seeking a certified general real estate appraiser to work as an investigator in the Enforcement Division. A background in commercial appraising and appraisal review is required, and some residential work experience is preferred.
Once you have your license, TALCB rules allow you to request Inactive or Active status for the license. This may be useful if your career changes direction and you wish to keep your license but not actively perform appraisals for a period of time.

Volunteering to become a Mentor is a way for an experienced appraiser to serve the public interest and contribute to the appraisal profession by working one-on-one with appraisers required to complete remedial training and education. Mentors agree to serve for a two-year period and are a key component of the agency's process to ensure appraiser competence.
