Finding a Supervisory Appraiser
Prior to filing your application, you need to find a Certified General or Certified Residential Appraiser licensed in Texas to act as your supervisor. Your supervisor is responsible to the Board and to the public for your conduct while acting under your Appraiser Trainee’s license and is required to sign all your appraisal reports. Appraiser Trainees are allowed to have more than one supervisor. Keep in mind that a supervisor can have up to five trainees at one time. If a supervisor has more than three trainees at one time, the supervisory appraiser must submit a trainee supervision plan for progress monitoring of the trainees and detail how the supervisor intends to ensure active, personal, and diligent supervision of each trainee.
