  • Appraiser Trainee and Supervisor Correspondence

    As of September 8, 2020 TALCB began copying any appraiser that supervises an appraiser trainee on correspondence sent to the trainee from TALCB on enforcement-related matters (including complaints) and licensing matters related to deficiencies with an application, education evaluations, experience evaluations, and whether required experience has been met.

    TALCB has temporarily closed lobby access to members of the public. Our highest priority is the health and well-being of the consumers of Texas and our staff.  The agency will remain open to provide assistance via phone and email.

  • TALCB Seeking Certified General Appraiser for Investigator Position

    TALCB is seeking a certified general real estate appraiser to work as an investigator in the Enforcement Division.  A background in commercial appraising and appraisal review is required, and some residential work experience is preferred.

  • From the Chair - August 2020

    It is strange to consider that six months have passed since the United States declared a national emergency due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

    At this point, appraisers have mostly determined “how to” inspect and collect data during a pandemic. We are now firmly in the next phase, “how to” determine if there has been an impact to market values and what that impact might be.

  • UPDATED: Agency Mail Inadvertently Destroyed

    Last month, the company TREC and TALCB contracts with to collect and shred documents mistakenly collected mail delivered to the agency.

  • New HR Director Announced

    The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), and Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB) is pleased to announce the promotion of Tawana Hood to Director of Human Resources. Mrs. Hood will oversee all human resources duties for the agency, including employee benefits, payroll, and staff relations. Mrs. Hood has worked for TREC and TALCB since 2018 as a human resources generalist.

  • TALCB and TREC extensions of all renewal and application deadlines ends July 31

    Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, TALCB, based on approval by Governor Greg Abbott, is waiving all renewal and application deadlines until July 31, 2020.
