The Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board (TALCB) is pleased to announce the appointment of John Eichelberger and Lisa Rodriguez to the Appraisal Management Company (AMC) Advisory Committee with terms to expire in January 2021.  The Vice-Chair of TALCB, Martha Gayle Reid Lynch, will continue to serve as the chair of the AMC Advisory Committee. This Committee advises the Board on all matters related to the regulation of Appraisal Management Companies.

TALCB is seeking certified general real estate appraisers to review commercial appraisal reports as part of the experience audit process required to obtain a license.  If you are a general certified appraiser with commercial review experience interested in doing contract work, please read our full Request for Qualifications to learn more about this contracting opportunity.

Before wiring money for an escrow deposit or to close on a home purchase, License Holders should make sure to talk with their clients to ensure they are sending funds to the correct recipient and account.  Consumers should not rely on instructions sent by email without contacting their broker or sales agent to verify the instructions are correct, since emails may be hijacked by potential scammers.

The Board met for its regular quarterly business meeting on Friday, May 17^th and we had an extensive and important agenda.  We heard progress reports from all of our committees, each of which had met since our last regular meeting in February, some more than once. Enforcement, Budget, Education and Executive all had very productive working sessions.
